One of the most requested watersports during the warms seasons is Jet Skiing. Many people visiting the island and not wanting to spend a fortune on watersports or hours learning how to do certain sports, can hype up the adrenaline for a while by riding one of this sea 'horses'.

Up until  a couple of years ago it really was a free for all and anyone was entitled to rent out a jet ski.  Unfortunately because of several quite irresponsible people causing accidents, some of which were fatal for swimmers, this activity has had to be drawn in and rules made.  Nowadays a valid licence is required from the authorities to ride freely along the coast on a Jet Ski.  If you do not have a valid licence you can still enjoy Jet Skiing although your options are limited and you are only allowed to use a certain designated area. 

There are serveral rental services on the island, in places such as El Arenal, Santa Ponsa and in Palma where you are able to hire Jet Skis.  The rental costs are around 60 euros for half an hour for one person or 80 euros if the Jet Ski is being used by two people.
